Greater Grace Temple will Provide "Free" Bicycles for Low-income Families on Christmas Day
Greater Grace Temple has given away over 2,500 bikes since 2004 to make Christmas a little happier for Detroit-area youngsters. DETROIT, Dec. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With recent layoffs and a tight economy, some families could face a Christmas with few or even "no" gifts under the tree. Yet, Greater Grace Temple, Happy's Pizza, Right Way Auto Sales and The Master's Commission, are joining forces to bring smiles to 200+ youngsters this year. The brand new bikes will be given to children from financially struggling families on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, 2011. The giveaway will begin after the 10:00 a.m. service (approx. 12:30 p.m.). Families receiving the bikes have already been pre-selected. "For many people, one of their fondest childhood memories was to receive a brand new bicycle on Christmas morning," says Greater Grace Temple's Senior Pastor Bishop Charles H. Ellis III. "We want to do something to help those families who are hit hard by this economy and could face having little or nothing under the tree on Christmas Day." Greater Grace Temple is located at 23500 W.
